Yes, it happened and yes, I too would like to take a "week of mourning" before I do anything else, but this blog is being written to remind you of three things, so stay with me.
First, we made it to the championship! I don't know about you guys, but I did NOT expect that... It was a dream, at best.
Second, WE SWEPT THE BLACKHAWKS!!! To me, that's a bigger deal than getting to the championship.
Third, we showed the world we ARE a hockey town.
When we lost the championship, I wanted to do what every fan wants, I wanted to blame the refs, I wanted the NHL to find Crosby guilty of cheating, anything except to admit that they pushed harder on that one; but my Pop (also a Preds fan) took one look at me and said "Hey, Don't be Mr. Morton."
(another way to say "don't be salty" for those who didn't know) so I allowed myself one ref rant, (to myself) one sour power picture and one Crosby rant... But that's it, it's over and guess what?
Football season is coming.
The last thing I wanted to share today is how great Preds fan really are, those of you who read my last "stand with us" story remember the fan who sent me a box of free fan stuff, like rally towels and a shirts.
That same fan blessed me (and took away a little of the salt) with another box of Preds stuff including a Stanley cup puck!
Anyways, it's your time and my time.
